This song is about the first time I met my wife.
It was at a small coffee shop on East Avenue in Rochester, NY called “Keep It Simple”.
It was my first performance in years, and had met two wonderful musicians
(Jed Curran and Bill Arrowsmith); we called ourselves “The Backwater Band”.
This was our first show together. Jed’s wife, Barb Curran, invited her down to see us play.
Need I say more, I fell in love as soon as I saw her. I have Barb to thank for many years of happiness.
I dedicate this song to Barb Curran and Jackie Kaspersin, who both lost the battle with cancer in 2020.
Jackie was the heart and soul of Dynamic Recording Studio, where I recorded my CDs in the past.
I learned so much about the in’s and out’s of the music business from her.
This song was the last recording that she was a part of at the studio.
Barb was a great friend and cut my hair for 20 years, and always treated me special.
Words can’t describe Barb’s personality and caring way that she treated everyone.
This is more than just another song to me. Dave Kaspersin and I put hours into the mix to get it right.
I always think of Barb and Jackie when I listen to it. Then I smile.
